Control of the Tongue

The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.

A wicked man listens to evil lips, a liar pays attention to malicious tongue.

Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

He who answers before listening, that is his folly and his shame.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a hard word stirs up anger.

Through Patience's a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.

A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret.

Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down. (AMEN)

Reckless words pierce like a sword.
