This sounds so much like a little play. Ther are obvious (and our bible points it out) changes in the person who is talking. But the way it is written it is almost like as if Solomon wrote this to be a play for his wife. We see the bride longing for her lover and once they meet they praise each other. As her love grows for him she starts to describe him with items from their natural surrounding. However suddenly the lover disappears and she starts to cry out for him. But he returns, they marry and then they take care of married business.
I think we need to look at this book through eyes of learning. God created sex and love and all the emotions that go along with it. God, that I know of, has never said that sex was bad or any type of it is bad through marriage. Yes when you are single it is, homosexuality is, sodomy is, but when your married sex is beautiful. So we should go away from reading this book as our how to manual to sex and love for our spouses.
